These Lion King nutcrackers are somewhat enigmatic. They aren't particularly rare but they don't appear in the VERO catalog. They usually carry a GDR Expertic sticker.

This 13 7/16-inch Lion King is based on a slightly modified standard VERO composite body. The head has been sanded flat in the nose mortice area. The nose is half of a bell-shaped turning, glued to the flattened area.

The eyes are also turned from wood and painted black. This is a departure from the usual steel disks.

The scepter is unique to this model and is made from wood beads on a dowel. The arm, bent at the elbo, is a feature only found on a few VERO nutcracker models.

This example had loose leg joints at the base causing the feet to pop off in shipping. It was otherwise in very good condition.
